As reported by the Ministry of Health, from September, influenza vaccinations in pharmacies and primary healthcare facilities will be funded by the National Health Fund. The fee for administering a vaccination will be PLN 21.83, while free, reimbursed vaccines obtained with a prescription will be available to seniors aged 75+ and pregnant women. A 50% reimbursement for the preparation is available, among others, to people with reduced immunity and patients over 60 years of age.

The Ministry:

Regardless of whether the vaccination is administered in a pharmacy or a primary healthcare facility, no one will incur any cost for the vaccination service itself.

– The manufacturers assured us that, for now, they have secured approximately 2 million influenza vaccines. Pharmacies will be able to purchase them and are already doing so. The manufacturers also added that deliveries will be regular and that even if there is greater interest in vaccines on the market, there will certainly be no shortage – says Deputy Minister Maciej Miłkowski.

According to ministry officials, interest in vaccinations is very high. – Patients are already contacting pharmacies to receive COVID-19 vaccinations, but they are also asking about influenza vaccinations – notes M. Miłkowski.

The Supreme Pharmaceutical Council recommends getting vaccinated during the autumn–winter season.
