At the Glina Show town’s arts and crafts stand, we’ll make hats and costume decorations with you. There will be a changing room in the town area where you can leave your clothes and put on a clay-person costume.
There will be pools filled with clay slip and a spray gun in the town, which we’ll use to paint people’s bodies. This year, blue and orange clay will also be available.
For the first time since the pandemic, we’re taking part in a parade where musicians from the 25-member Bloco Pomerania band—the best samba band in Poland—will play hot rhythms straight from Rio de Janerio for us!
Prizes: a photo session, Bolesławiec ceramics and a training plan
Our photographer Grzegorz Rakowski will invite the best clay-painted, costumed participants to a photo session. It’s worth winning such a professional session, because it will be a unique souvenir of the event.
Another prize for the best costume will be a training plan and diet from Katy Janowiec, a titled competitor in physique sports. You can also win a ceramic cup or another piece of ceramic handicraft for dressing up and taking part in the parade! The beautiful ceramics for the prizes were donated by Ceramika Wiza and Ceramika Czaja-Sobieraj.
How to paint yourself and how to wash it off?
The clay slip is cool and refreshing in hot weather, with a pleasant, silky consistency. It then dries on the body, creating a feeling—especially on the face—of stiffening or tightening skin. The dried clay crumbles.
Create your costume yourself, preferably from cotton or linen. It must be white. Paint it with clay slip several hours before the parade. The slip will be available from 13:00 at the Glina Show town. We have a rope where you can dry your costume. It’s a good idea to wear a two-piece swimsuit underneath (women) or swim shorts (men). After taking off your clay-covered costume, you’ll be able to wash the clay off your body while wearing your swimsuit.
We offer the possibility of washing the slip off, but the water is cold tap water delivered through the water mains (you can choose between a shower and a rubber hose). More thorough washing will have to be done at home. PWiK Bolesławiec will provide a water curtain and rubber hose. Bring a towel and a change of clothes.
Participation in the event is free. We charge participants no fees.
Warning! Leave documents, wallets containing money, credit cards and phones at home or entrust them to someone for safekeeping. We are not responsible for items left in the changing room.
Clay slip permanently stains fabric. Items painted with it entirely will no longer be usable. Slip on clothing will eventually wash out after several washes if there are only a few spots. Slip washes off skin without the slightest problem.
