Bloco Pomerania is a samba group that invites enthusiasts of Brazilian percussion and carnival to have fun together. In 2015, the group took first place in a review of samba groups in Oborniki Śląskie during the International Samba Festival “RABAN”. Bloco Pomerania is led by Rafał Krzanowski, a lecturer at the Academy of Art in Szczecin Rafał Krzanowski.
On Saturday, August 20, from 2:00 p.m., the 25-member group will play hot rhythms in the Glina Show town and get the audience dancing during the fifth edition of Glina Show in Bolesławiec at the Festival of Ceramics. They will also accompany the parade of people painted with clay!
You can expect the expression and energy accompanying Bloco Pomerania’s performances to leave no one unmoved. The group will draw you into a whirl of dance and good fun, allowing you to feel the powerful collective pulse. These are precisely the reactions of audiences at their performances at numerous festivals, parades and concerts.
Bloco Pomerania performed at the 2012 European Championship matches in Gdańsk and Wrocław, in fan zones near the stadiums; at three Przystanek Woodstock festivals; at the Intergalactic Superheroes’ Gathering in Bytom; The Tall Ship Races 2013 in Szczecin; the 2014 inauguration at the Philharmonic in Szczecin; Baltic Tall Ship Races 2015; the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin in 2013 and 2014; the samba festival in Bremen; and SAMBAFEST at Stara Rzeźnia in Szczecin in 2015/2016. Their knowledge, experience and passion for Brazilian culture are supported by trips to the heart of samba—Rio de Janeiro—in 2008 and 2013. There, they took master classes with musicians from some of the largest samba schools, including Unidos da Tijuca (Serrinha Raiz and Waguinho de Repique), Mangueira, Estacio de Sa and Salgueiro.
