In April, a group of students from the Construction School Complex in Bolesławiec left for a month-long placement in Leipzig. Thanks to an EU grant of nearly €68,500, students from the Landscape Architecture Technical School had the opportunity to work at five renowned German companies. After completing their placement, they received Europass Mobility certificates, which will help them find work abroad.

Everyone present in the school assembly hall had the opportunity to watch a multimedia presentation summarizing the month-long placements of ZSB students in Germany. During the ceremony, Dariusz Kwaśniewski addressed the young construction students: – A school exists to teach and educate. However, not all schools in Poland go on placements abroad. The fact that you have the opportunity to develop your skills in Leipzig is thanks to your teachers, form tutors and the headmaster.

The placement organizers made sure that the students would not be bored in their free time. The trainees were able to explore Leipzig, learn about German history and culture, and visit the famous Leipzig Trade Fair. Together with Pastor Pascal, the placement supervisor, they organized a Mass. They also prepared an evening event connected with the 3 May Constitution Day. – The placement was great; I would recommend such a trip to anyone – says Ewelina Akierman, a student at the Landscape Architecture Technical School. – We became very close as a class and learned to cooperate with one another – adds her classmate, Joanna Szpurka.

– The employers were very pleased with our students – emphasizes Jacek Jurkiewicz, director of ZSB. – Leipzig is waiting for Bolesławiec – says Anna Prostak, a German teacher. – This was our sixth trip. Each time, we try to present our history and culture. This time, we prepared an evening event to mark the anniversary of the enactment of the 3 May Constitution. Both employers and supervisors already know us. There were no problems whatsoever during the trip – she says with a smile.
