On 5 August 2022, the final acceptance of the project took place. The investment was carried out as part of the project “Improving flood safety for the City of Bolesławiec through the modernisation and expansion of the rainwater management system”.

Municipal officials:

The investment involved constructing a new stormwater sewer network draining the former POM area, together with the discharge of water into the Bóbr River. The main stormwater sewer network is 342 m long. The basic scope of the investment also includes reconstructing the outlet to the Bóbr River and restoring and repairing road and pavement surfaces. The work was carried out by Sigma Projekty-Instalacje from Bolesławiec. The total cost of the project is PLN 962,202.

They also add:

More than PLN 5,600,000 has so far been spent in Bolesławiec on improving flood safety. Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman emphasises that, as part of improving flood safety, a number of investments have already been completed in various parts of the city to modernise and expand the rainwater management system. These include the construction of stormwater sewers on Zabobrze Street, Kamienna Street and Bazaltowa Street, as well as the construction of a retention and infiltration basin to drain these streets.

Last year, the construction of a stormwater sewer and retention basin on Konradowska Street was completed. The largest investment of this type is Bolesławiec’s “Leśny Potok” retention basin on Jeleniogórska Street. Thanks to the revitalisation of the water reservoir, a small-retention facility was restored, helping regulate hydrological and flood conditions in the right-bank part of the city.

What are the next plans? The construction of two retention basins in the Przylesie housing estate.
