The matter was described in detail by the lwowek24.pl:
An unpleasant situation took place on July 21 this year, during which one (or more) people defecated into the water tank. For this reason, the municipal swimming pool in Lwówek Śląski had to be closed for two days. After the commissioned water tests, the pool could be reopened.
On July 24, the facility was reopened. As reported by the Lwówek-based media outlet, despite surveillance footage, the culprit behind the incident was not identified. The Secretary of the Municipality and City of Lwówek Śląski said:
If such a person were identified, they would be held financially liable for: an administrative fine (PLN 1,500), the cost of microbiological testing (PLN 1,200), the cost of possible disinfection of the pool basin and water replacement, and, of course, lost revenue resulting from the pool’s closure (around PLN 10,000 per day on hot days). Altogether, this could amount to several tens of thousands of złoty, so this is no joke.
The Lwówek-based media outlet sums up:
Taking into account the prices quoted by the Secretary, it turns out that the person responsible for the fecal incident would have paid PLN 22,700 for the damage caused, which, since the culprit was not identified, had to be covered by the Municipality and City of Lwówek Śląski.
