A Reader informed us just now:
56 km of the A4 toward Legnica – the bump is finally being repaired.
And added:
As a result, traffic jams.
Let us recall. In May this year, we once again raised the issue of the irritating bump on the A4. At that time, a Reader wrote to us via Facebook:
Bump on the A4 – Krzywa area, 55 km from the border.
I read the reply. In the 2nd quarter [...] of the year, they will begin repairs. The question is: why did they not do it throughout that entire year? The bump is very dangerous; even at a reduced speed, it causes trucks to veer.
And added: – Nothing is happening on this issue. No words, what a disgrace... There will be a tragedy, and perhaps then they will do something faster.
Magda Szumiata, spokesperson for the Wrocław branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, wrote the following in an email to the editorial office in November last year:
I would like to inform you that, for safety reasons, a speed limit of 80 km/h is in force at the location of the reported uneven section of the road surface. The unevenness arose at the junction between the concrete and bituminous surfaces, and repairing it requires work on both surfaces.
Due to the nature of the work and the time of year, we plan to carry out the repair in the second quarter of 2022, provided that weather conditions are favorable. Until the repair is completed, the road surface will be continuously monitored by maintenance services.
