On May 7–8, the second round of the qualifiers for the Polish Junior Olympic Taekwondo Championships was held in Puławy (Lubelskie Voivodeship). The tournament was organized by the Polish Olympic Taekwondo Association, while the host was the District Olympic Taekwondo Association in Lublin. The taekwondo competitors fought for qualification for the Polish championship finals, which will take place on June 19–20 in Łódź.
The following competitors qualified:
- Krzysztof Jasiński (UKS Ilyo) – took first place in the 54 kg category
- Yevgen Nikitin (UKS Ilyo) – second place in the 68 kg category
- Bartłomiej Bąk (UKS Ilyo) – third place in the 80 kg category
Paweł Knapik also qualified for the finals. He is a graduate of the Bolesławiec taekwondo club and trains in Wrocław on a daily basis. Paweł took second place in the over-87 kg category.
The Polish Junior Olympic Taekwondo Championships 2010 will begin on May 14 at the Sports Hall of the University of Wrocław. Our voivodeship will be represented by:
