On Thursday, May 6, police arrested a 28-year-old man suspected of a series of internet frauds. From January to April this year, the perpetrator defrauded at least 8 people. Police findings indicate that the 28-year-old posted fake job offers on local websites. He offered the opportunity to take up employment abroad. People who contacted the advertiser had to pay money in exchange for assistance in arranging employment. The fraudster also charged fees for transportation to the alleged place of the new job (from PLN 250 to PLN 500).

When those interested paid money into the suspect’s account, contact ceased. The man stopped answering phone calls. In this way, the 28-year-old extorted more than PLN 3,500. Police suspect there may be more victims. The fraudster faces up to 8 years in prison.
