The June meeting of the Bolesławiec County Council is under way. Before the proceedings began, the head of the body, Ryszard Kawka, informed everyone present that the mandate of councillor Władysław Bakalarz, who died prematurely in May this year, had been terminated.

Under the law, in such a situation the mandate goes to the person who ran in the election from the same list and received the next-highest number of votes. That person turned out to be attorney Wojciech Kasprzyk, formerly an active political campaigner and an employee of the Bolesławiec County Office, and now a prominent legal counsel handling, among other cases, some of the most high-profile proceedings in Poland.

The newly elected councillor took the oath. He stressed that Władysław Bakalarz had been his friend. He added that he hoped to replace him honorably.
