Around 25 people took part on Friday, June 17, in a meeting with Civic Coalition parliamentarians who came to Bolesławiec as part of the “POrozmawiajmy nie tylko o polityce #1000 spotkań” series. Those present included KO Senator Prof. Alicja Chybicka and Members of Parliament Zofia Czernow, Joanna Jaśkowiak and Piotr Borys. The meeting was an informal discussion and an opportunity to ask questions.
The parliamentarians present at the meeting talked about what they do in their daily work and which committees they sit on. They discussed, among other things, work in parliament; the legislative process; differences in working culture between the Sejm and the Senate; the difficult situation in healthcare, including the closure of hospital wards; low salaries in education; and reforming the education system.
One of the voters present in the room pointed out the opposition’s weaknesses, its lack of a plan to win the elections, the absence of a concrete program, and the lack of a unified voice on the opposition side, including the coalition and the principles of cooperation among opposition parties. The voter also spoke about the need to build a new expressway and to use the presence of US Army soldiers to support the region’s development.
