Football Academy Bolesławiec has prepared a great sporting feast for football fans. It is also a wonderful way to start the summer holidays. Registration for the tournament is ongoing. Ultimately, 36 teams are scheduled to play on Saturday, June 25, and 24 teams on Sunday, June 26.
– This is a combination of football and Bolesławiec ceramics; this is how we want to promote the international “Bolesławiec CUP” tournament – says Damian Sawczak, the organizer. – The tournament will bring together players, parents, guests and spectators. We want to show them an event connected with the city of ceramics. We will also encourage them to visit the Ceramic Festival in August. In addition, this is another major event on the sporting map of Bolesławiec and the region – Damian Sawczak adds.
On Saturday, players born in 2013–2014 will compete, while Sunday will be for those born in 2011 and 2012. The tournament begins on June 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the Water and Sports Center. Group-stage games will then be played on six pitches, and on Sunday, June 25, on four pitches. After the group stage, the tables are calculated and the final phase begins.
– There will therefore be plenty of playing time for the players – says Damian Sawczak. – One player runs for 100 minutes over the course of an entire day. Here, this will be distributed among the many teams meeting in Bolesławiec. The teams are coming from all over Lower Silesia and Greater Poland; we also have a team from the Czech Republic. We invite everyone who wants to cheer for our players to the tournament – the organizer adds.
Selection of the Dream Team, the Ceramic Tournament Team
The best teams will receive medals. The Champions League winners will receive tickets to a match featuring an Ekstraklasa team.
– We also have an interesting attraction: unique ceramic shoes from Ceramika Millena – Damian Sawczak announces. – We will give these shoes to the best players of the entire tournament, the Dream Team in two age categories: five players on Saturday and the six best players on Sunday, selected by coaches observing the games. The tournament is a test of the skills acquired during training. We try not to put pressure on the players, but we observe their development because we care about the development of each individual, about players who are making progress—and that is what makes a coach happiest – Sawczak adds.
