Whenever the calendar brings several days off, a considerable number of residents decide to leave the city. What can be done to ensure that the journey and the return home are safe? Among others, this will be ensured by police officers serving on the roads of Lower Silesia.
Through Sunday, June 19, inclusive, Lower Silesian police officers will conduct intensified preventive and enforcement activities on the roads of our voivodeship. Outbound roads from cities, main traffic routes and other places where various types of incidents may occur will be monitored. Officers will watch over safety and traffic flow, and ensure that drivers comply with the applicable regulations. Service will be carried out at stationary checkpoints and dynamically on the busiest routes.
Police will use marked patrol cars as well as unmarked vehicles equipped with video recorders, which make it possible to identify road pirates who endanger other road users. Officers will also check vehicles’ technical condition and drivers’ sobriety, because alcohol and bravado remain among the most serious dangers in traffic.
Because traffic jams may form on the main routes during departures and returns, as everyone wants to reach their destination as quickly as possible, police officers appeal to travelers to set out sufficiently early. There is nothing worse than rushing on the road and trying to make up for lost minutes. Let us think about the loved ones we will be transporting, whom we may expose to danger through irresponsible driving.
What else can be done to ensure that the departure and return are not accompanied by any unpleasant event? Let us check the vehicle’s technical inspection date—perhaps we should go to a diagnostic station and have the inspection carried out. The car should also have its operating fluids topped up and its lights correctly adjusted. It is also worth setting out well-rested and, before beginning the journey, checking that all passengers have their seat belts fastened.
We wish all road users safe journeys only!
