On Monday, May 3, the Polish-Norwegian group De Press performed at the Amphitheater on Spacerowa Street in Bolesławiec. The band presented its best-known songs. The explosive mixture of punk rock and Highland folk captivated the Bolesławiec audience. The spectators heard, among others, “Potarganą chałpę,” “Bo jo cie kochom,” “Cy bocycie Świnty Ojce,” “Elektrycznego Bacę,” “Patrol,” “Cyrwone gorole,” as well as... a punk rendition of the songs “Góralu, czy ci nie żal”/“W murowanej piwnicy.” The title track from the group’s latest album, “Myśmy rebelianci,” was also performed.

The audience’s attention was drawn above all to the group’s leader – Andrzej Dziubek. The founder of De Press is one of the most charismatic figures on the Polish music scene. During the concert, he sang excellently and... played a grinder.

Toward the end of the concert, Dziubek invited a small child onto the stage, and the child sang the band’s biggest hit, “Bo jo cie kochom,” with him.

The support act was Jacek „Orzeł” Band. The musicians served the audience a fine portion of blues. The band performed, among others, “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love” from the film “Blues Brothers.”
