At a press conference on June 6, 2022, county head Tomasz Gabrysiak announced plans for road renovations. The following streets will be renovated: Gdańska, Staszica and Staroszkolna, which will be extended all the way to the allotment gardens located beyond the city bypass.
“As part of the government program, the county obtained funds—this time for roads. Together with the county’s own contribution, the amount is almost PLN 14,600,000,” said Tomasz Gabrysiak at the conference. “Most importantly, four projects funded from this amount will be carried out in the city of Bolesławiec: Gdańska, Staszica and Staroszkolna streets, as well as a cycle path along Kosiby Street, so that the city can be connected to another cycle path running along the southeastern bypass of Bolesławiec. Last year, the first such link was created: a cycle path along Jeleniogórska Street. That project was carried out together with the city of Bolesławiec. Importantly, the cycle path along Kosiby Street will connect it with the paths being built in Bolesławiec Municipality. A new path was built in Kruszyn to Kraśnik Górny, as well as paths in Łaziska. This network of cycle routes is expanding and forming a coherent whole, allowing cyclists to travel safely on the county’s roads,” the county head added.
Staroszkolna Street will be partly renovated, while part of the project will be a new investment: extending the street to the area of the allotment gardens located beyond the city bypass. These will be the last county roads in the city of Bolesławiec requiring investment work to adapt them to heavy traffic. The county office has six months to select a contractor and hopes to do so despite what is happening on the investment market and with prices in Poland.
