During the gala held on 27 April at the Galeria Zdolnych MDK, Dariusz Kwaśniewski, a member of the Bolesławiec County Board, spoke about what enables students to achieve success: – Last year, students at our technical schools passed their school-leaving examinations with the best results in Lower Silesia. Graduates of general and technical secondary schools ranked third among 29 counties. That is an excellent result! Few people achieve such successes. What makes it possible for you to achieve them? Talent – the lucky ones have it! You were born with predispositions. This is a huge responsibility. You must multiply these talents and work hard. You also owe a great deal to your teachers and parents. They too deserve applause today.
The County Board also honoured three teachers: Cezary Czernatowicz, principal of I LO in Bolesławiec, Bronisław Sołek, a vocational-subject teacher at Zespół Szkół Budowlanych, and Edyta Gorczyca, a vocational-subject teacher at Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych.
The Bolesławiec County Board can award prizes and scholarships thanks to a resolution of the Bolesławiec County Council, adopted in December last year.
“We argued over every provision so as not to overlook any talented student and to recognise athletes, artists and enthusiasts of exact sciences alike,” said Robert Rosiński, chair of the County Council’s Education, Culture and Sport Committee. “I thank the councillors for this work, especially Jarosław Molenda and Henryk Jasiński, as well as department head Alicja Krzyszczak.”
The gala was hosted by Alicja Krzyszczak, head of the Education, Culture, Physical Culture and Sport Department of the County Office, and Marek Łętowski, head of MDK. The ceremony was enhanced by performances from participants in the vocal workshop at the Youth Cultural Centre.
