The comprehensive renovation of the school is part of the modernization plan for education in Bolesławiec. The expenditure on the school’s renovation amounted to approximately PLN 6.3 million.
The modernization of the school was carried out in two stages. The first stage lasted from May to October 2003, and the second stage from June 2004 to 20 January 2005. During the first stage, the basement walls were dried and thermal-modernization works were carried out, involving the insulation of façades and roofs, as well as the replacement of the roof covering, windows, exterior doors and central-heating system.
During the second stage, the electrical and water and sewage systems were replaced, the old gas connection was removed, ventilation was installed in the sports wing, a ramp for people with disabilities was built, the restrooms and showers were renovated, floors and doors were replaced, and the walls were leveled and painted. A forecourt was also built in front of the main entrance, along with fire-safety and alarm systems. A computer network, public-address system and RTV system were installed in every classroom.
