Installation of a digital projector has begun at the Forum cinema. From 7 May, selected films will be screened using digital and 3D technology. Viewers will be able to see the premiere of “Ocean of Adventures”. A fairy tale, “Toy Story 2”, is being prepared for children, while “Avatar” will be shown again at the special request of viewers—the film was specifically made with the latest three-dimensional technology in mind.
The main advantages of digital cinema are greater image sharpness and stability, better and clearer sound, and the highest projection quality. Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury – Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki is the first local-government cultural institution in Lower Silesia equipped with such modern cinematographic equipment.
Iwona Bojko, deputy director for the BOK-MCC’s Impresariat and Promotion Department, promises in an interview with the IstotneInformacje.pl website and newspaper that she will ensure an attractive programme using the new technology. “3D films will not be screened very often because there are still not many of them on the market, but we will try to show 3D cinema premieres at the cinema,” says Iwona Bojko. “We will premiere ‘Toy Story 3’ in June and ‘Shrek 4’ in July. We will also try to bring back films that could not be seen in this technology in Bolesławiec. I mean ‘Clash of the Titans’ and ‘How to Train Your Dragon’.”
For two years, since the cinema was renovated, it has been improved and modernised. The auditorium has excellent sound, and the newly purchased projector will now enable films to be screened using digital technology. Iwona Bojko especially invites audiences to see “Prince of Persia”, which will premiere on 21 May. “It is a spectacular film with rich, Eastern-inspired scenery, so it is especially important that we will show it using digital technology,” adds Bojko. “For 30 June, we have been promised the digital premiere of the saga about Bella and the vampire Edward, ‘Eclipse’, which is hugely popular.”
Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury invites visitors to its website, where tickets can be reserved, and to the cinema for all films.
