Jeleniogórski criminal investigators identified and detained a 34-year-old man suspected of theft and misappropriation of property. – The police determined that, while working for one of the courier companies, the man committed the offences in the course of carrying out his official duties – explains junior aspirant Beata Sosulska-Baran from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.
Between 12 and 17 May, the suspect committed seven similar offences. He opened parcels, stole their contents, then resealed them and, as if nothing had happened, returned them to the company’s warehouse as unclaimed, complete parcels.

Police are currently investigating all the circumstances of the case in detail and identifying those affected.
The 34-year-old now faces a sentence of between one and as many as ten years in prison. Moreover, the man has been placed under police supervision, and his vehicle was seized to secure potential future penalties.
