Michał „Big Man Tryton” Krauze was a well-known DJ, vocalist and event organiser. Tryton developed acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. He underwent steroid and chemotherapy treatment in Poznań. Michał’s friends organised a series of concerts, with the proceeds intended to fund his treatment.
Residents of Bolesławiec also joined the initiative. On Monday, 12 April, Tryton lost his battle with the disease. He was 25. The concert planned for 16 April at Concordia was cancelled. Tryton’s friends nevertheless decided to revive the idea of the event—to pay tribute to the artist and raise funds to be given to the deceased’s family, which had incurred considerable treatment costs.
On Sunday, 25 April, a charity reggae-themed event was held at Concordia (Orla Street). Among those performing were the groups Method Massiv and Natural Dread Killaz. Both bands got the residents of Bolesławiec dancing with their music. The audience had a wonderful time. The concert raised 1,400 PLN for Tryton.
The event was organised by the Via Sudetica association, Fontanna Kultur Alternatywnych and friends. The IstotneInformacje.pl service was the event’s media patron.
