A Reader wrote to us:

What is happening with mowing the grass in our county? I guess I am bringing the subject up again. Well, it was probably scheduled—as every year—just before the Ceramics Festival. Early this morning [May 11—editor’s note: istotne.pl], I had to brake hard to a complete stop on my way to work. I was driving at the speed limit (so as to overtake the hate), and a roe deer was invisible right in front of the hood; two kilometers farther on, the same thing happened.

And commented:

What is going on in this Bolesławiec County? There are no people for this, no equipment????!!!!

He also added: – I’ll get ahead of the next wave of hate. Grass and weeds as high as the roadside posts are not flower meadows, which, yes, should be planted along roads. (Flower meadows account for 70% of the grass.) The road toward Lwówek Śląski. Grass height: roadside posts. The Iwiny – Bolesławiec road is the same. Hellooo!

He remarked sarcastically that if mowing the grass was too difficult for the road authorities, they should “plan the growth and height of the grass for two mowings a year.” Finally, he added:

Bravo to them and a deep bow. Bravo for safety, and bravo for the fresh air from the overgrowth.

We appeal to the authorities responsible for the roads to respond urgently, and invite Readers to join the discussion and write in the comments where, in their opinion, the overgrowth causes drivers the most trouble.
