The Reader wrote to us via Facebook:
A4 road surface bump – Krzywa area, 55 km from the border.
I read the response. Repairs are supposed to begin in the second quarter [...] of the year. The question is: why did they not fix it throughout the entire year? The bump is very dangerous; even at a limited speed, trucks are thrown off course.
He added: – Nothing is happening on this matter. I have no words, it’s a disgrace... There will be a tragedy, and perhaps then they will do something more quickly.
We appeal to the road authority to address this problem.
Let us recall. Magdalena Szumiata, spokesperson for the Wrocław branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, wrote the following in an email to the editorial office in November last year:
I hereby inform you that, for safety reasons, a speed limit of 80 km/h is in force at the location of the reported road surface unevenness. The unevenness occurred at the junction of the concrete and bituminous surfaces, and its repair requires work on both surfaces.
Due to the nature of the work and the time of year, we plan to carry out the repair in the second quarter of 2022, weather conditions permitting. Until the repair is completed, the road surface will be continuously monitored by maintenance services.
She added:
We appeal to drivers to comply with the traffic organization currently in force.
