The incident occurred just before 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. On the road between Gromadka and Wierzbowa, the driver of a passenger Opel (with Polkowice registration plates) ended up in a ditch. He got out of the car under his own power.
Firefighters from OSP Wierzbowa, OSP Gromadka and PSP Bolesławiec provided assistance at the scene. Police officers and paramedics were also present.
The police will, of course, investigate the matter to establish what happened and whether the driver was drunk.
Update of May 4:
A 38-year-old resident of Gromadka municipality lost control of the vehicle and, on a bend, ran off the road. A motion seeking punishment was filed with the court. The driver was NOT under the influence of alcohol.
