A reader informed us about the incident, which took place on Wednesday afternoon:
At the entrance to Żeliszów from the direction of Raciborowice, a dead animal was lying in the middle of the road. It turned out to be a small, burned dog! Clumps of fur lay around the dog. The animal had probably been set on fire on the road. Perhaps someone will recognize whose dog it could have been from the color of its fur (beige, long and shaded), probably a male? The animal probably did not roam freely, as it had very long claws, so it was either kept at home or lived in confinement. The sight was horrifying. Human brutality knows no bounds! The matter was reported to the police.
The police immediately dealt with the matter.
“We received a report concerning a carcass lying on the road. The veterinarian determined that it was a decomposing badger that had probably been hit by a vehicle. No signs indicating that it had been burned were found,” says Anna Kublik-Rościszewska of the Bolesławiec police.
The reader’s reaction was very good. It is important to respond to such situations. The services are there to investigate matters. This time it turned out that it was not a dog but a badger, and that the body had not been burned.
