The incident occurred on October 31, after 11:00 p.m., in Nowogrodziec. A fire broke out in one of the buildings. During firefighting operations and a search of the building, firefighters found human remains there.
Account from the OSP Nowogrodziec firefighters:
11:14 p.m. — Nowogrodziec, Kolejowa Street: building fire. Upon arrival at the scene, the building was engulfed in flames. A team of firefighters was sent in to search the premises. Unfortunately, during the search, firefighters found an injured person with no vital signs.
First aid was not administered due to clear signs of death. Demolition work was carried out to eliminate all sources of fire. Three crews from our unit, among others, worked at the scene. The Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
The police and the prosecutor's office are investigating the causes and circumstances of the tragic incident.
