A theft took place at night in one of the localities in Złotoryja County. – The owner of a tree nursery noticed an empty pot among the plants he was cultivating. Until then, it had contained a magnificent and very valuable bonsai tree. He immediately notified officers from the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja about the theft of the plant – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the press team of the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.
She adds: – At the scene, the officers’ attention was drawn to a mobile phone that did not belong to the owner of the nursery.
It turned out that the phone had been left at the crime scene by the “genius of crime” himself: a 36-year-old resident of Złotoryja who had previously been in conflict with the law.
The suspect was arrested. Burglary is punishable by between one and even ten years in prison. The man arrested is a repeat offender, so the sentence imposed will probably be harsher.
Efforts to recover the valuable plant are under way.
