On Tuesday, 20 April, the regional qualifiers of the 55th Lower Silesian Recitation Competition, addressed to lower-secondary school students, were held at the Gallery of Talents of the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec. Eighteen reciters and seven performers of sung poetry took part in the qualifiers.
The competition committee (comprising: Bogusław Kłak, Maria Sobolska, Wioletta Ziobrowska and Urszula Frąszczak-Matyjewicz) decided to award 14 main prizes. The winners in the recitation category were: Karina Semków, Patrycja Quach Chi (both from the lower-secondary school in Gryfów Śląski), Amanda Stępień from the lower-secondary school in Marciszów, Zuzanna Grzelak from the lower-secondary school in Mysłakowice, Emil Rogowski from the lower-secondary school in Janowice Wielkie, Jakub Mieszała from the lower-secondary school in Jelenia Góra, Klaudia Wilk from the lower-secondary school in Nowogrodziec, Joanna Szubert from Lower-Secondary School No. 2 in Bogatynia, Aleksandra Bednarz from Lower-Secondary School No. 2 in Zgorzelec, and Kamila Wisny from the Non-Public Łużyckie Lower-Secondary School.
The winners in the sung poetry category were: Gabriela Kowalewska from the lower-secondary school in Jelenia Góra, the duo of Julita Halama and Marek Witkowski from the lower-secondary school in Łomnica, Klaudiusz Leśniak from Lower-Secondary School No. 2 in Jelenia Góra, and Patryk Burski from the lower-secondary school in Pisarzowice.
The competition winners qualified for the provincial qualifiers, which will be held on 18 and 19 May in Oława.
