– Officers of the Border Guard from the station in Legnica, under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Środa Śląska, are conducting a wide-ranging investigation into organizing the illegal crossing of the Republic of Poland’s border by other foreign nationals. She adds: – The investigation has already led to the detention of 19 foreign nationals, namely 12 Turkish citizens, 6 Georgian citizens and a Ukrainian citizen. The arrests took place in the Lower Silesian, Masovian and Silesian voivodeships, as well as in Germany.
Five people were temporarily arrested, and three vehicles used in the operation were also secured. (Their value is PLN 115,000).
How much did the foreign nationals “earn”?
Border Guard officers from Legnica established that the organizers, helpers and couriers collected from several hundred to even several thousand zlotys for each foreign national. The spokesperson said: – During the investigation, officers revealed that the detained individuals may have organized the illegal crossing of the border for as many as several dozen foreign nationals who crossed the European Union’s external border in an uncontrolled manner.
The case is developing, and further arrests cannot be ruled out.
