On Monday, 11 April, we reported on a very sad incident. Someone (probably during the night from Sunday to Monday) destroyed the swans’ nest and eggs from the municipal pond in Bolesławiec. One of the eggs was smashed, while two were thrown into the water. The nest was located not far from the pond’s fence. It had previously been protected with an additional net. We received photos of the destroyed nest and eggs from a reader:

On Wednesday (13 April), the Klekusiowo manager, together with volunteers, installed a footbridge on the municipal pond, allowing the swans to easily access the island, where they will be safer. Some straw and food for the birds were also left on the island. Will the birds use their new, safer location? We are keeping our fingers crossed that they will.
