– I cannot understand how anyone could destroy the benches like this. I wonder whether the vandal was recorded by the municipal surveillance system – wrote a Reader. She also sent us photos of the benches by the town pond on Bankowa Street, which someone disfigured with vulgar remarks directed at someone and a tag of questionable aesthetic value.
We asked the Bolesławiec Municipal Police whether the vandal—or vandals—was “caught” in the footage from the municipal surveillance system. We are awaiting a response.
We will only add that an act of vandalism may be punishable by a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.

Unfortunately, the municipal surveillance cameras did not capture the vandal.
