On Sunday (3 April), a match was played in Raciborowice that was described as the big game of the round in Group III of the B class. Local side GKS—the league runners-up—hosted the leaders, BKS Bolesławiec’s reserves. The hosts very much wanted to make up for their autumn defeat at Spółdzielcza, where they lost 3–2 to the Bolesławiec side, and they succeeded.

BKS II started Sunday’s match more effectively and, thanks to a goal by Kamil Kowalski, took the lead in the first half. The score did not change before the break. After the change of ends, there was a great deal of tension on the pitch. Particular emotions were caused by a situation in which the hosts demanded a penalty, claiming that an away player had handled the ball in the penalty area. The referee remained unmoved, however. But a few moments later, the official spotted a foul in BKS’s penalty area. This time the visitors protested, but the referee decisively pointed to the spot. Denys Lebid approached the ball and defeated Jakub Walczak.

When it seemed that the match would end in a draw, Marek Wiedro put the ball into the net in stoppage time, allowing the hosts to celebrate victory. After the match, the celebrations moved to the Winestone Restaurant in Bolesławiec.

GKS Raciborowice – BKS II Bolesławiec 2–1 (0–1).

After the victory, GKS remains in second place in the competition table and trails the leaders from Bolesławiec by only one point. Who do you think will earn promotion to the A class?
