Police officers from the station in Nowogrodziec identified and detained a 24-year-old man suspected of stealing property worth PLN 1,300. The crime took place in the Osiecznica municipality.
While returning from an event, a resident of Bolesławiec County noticed a bicycle in a stairwell. It was not secured, and he decided to take advantage of the opportunity because he had no way to get home.
The man hid the stolen bicycle behind some buildings. When he returned for it several hours later, it was no longer there.
The man was charged and faces up to 5 years in prison. Efforts to recover the property are currently under way.
