Today and tomorrow, dust that has traveled all the way from the Sahara, from its Moroccan part, will appear over Bolesławiec. As IMGW reports:
Air masses containing dust from the Sahara reached the south-western edges of Poland today. In these regions, cloudy skies may appear this evening. The appearance of a layer of dusty “grit” cannot be ruled out.
Since Monday, residents of Spain, Switzerland and Germany have been able to observe the presence of the dust. The dust appeared on streets and covered cars. In selected places, the sky took on shades of orange.
Can sand dust harm your health?
The shortest answer is: yes. Allergy sufferers are most at risk. The dust may increase the severity of allergies. If bouts of coughing, shortness of breath or wheezing occur, you should consult a doctor promptly. The dust may also cause conjunctivitis and irritation of the mucous membranes of the nose, throat and larynx.
