IN CONNECTION WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW SYSTEM FOR ASSIGNING PESEL NUMBERS TO CITIZENS OF UKRAINE, WE INFORM YOU THAT
ON 16 MARCH 2022
THE RECEPTION
OF INTERESTED CITIZENS WILL TAKE PLACE
FROM 12:00 P.M. TO 3:00 P.M.
ON OTHER DAYS OF THE WEEK, DURING THE OFFICE’S WORKING HOURS.

Let us remind you. On Wednesday, 16 March, the process of issuing PESEL numbers to Ukrainian citizens who fled the war begins. – We appeal to Ukrainian citizens not to go en masse to the offices on the first day. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, Mr Andrij Deszczycia, also issued the same appeal. The date of submitting the application will not affect the provision of support. Regardless of when Ukrainian citizens go to the office, they are guaranteed legal protection from the day they arrive in Poland – said Deputy Minister Paweł Szefernaker.

The process of issuing PESEL numbers to refugees from Ukraine is a solution introduced in the special act passed by the Sejm on Saturday.

This task will be a major challenge for city and municipal offices, which is why nearly one thousand government administration employees across Poland will be available to support local authorities.

Additionally, as part of the RCB alert, mobile phone users with Ukrainian SIM cards received a message in Ukrainian on Tuesday evening asking them not to go en masse to the offices on the first day.
