After a series of painful increases, news emerged that fuel prices would fall. The reduction was announced on March 14 by PKN Orlen President Daniel Obajtek himself. According to his statement, diesel would become 34 groszy cheaper and 95-octane petrol 20 groszy cheaper.

After the latest increases, standard diesel cost about PLN 8 per litre, while 95-octane petrol cost about PLN 7 per litre. Following the reduction announced on Monday, prices at selected stations in Bolesławiec on Tuesday, March 15, were as follows:

PKN Orlen on aleja Tysiąclecia:

  • Pb 95 – PLN 6.79
  • ON – PLN 7.61
  • LPG – PLN 3.86

Lotos at the Lech Kaczyński roundabout:

  • Pb 95 – PLN 6.83
  • ON – PLN 7.65
  • LPG – PLN 4.09

Circle K on Kościuszki Street:

  • Pb 95 – PLN 6.84
  • ON – PLN 7.74
  • LPG – PLN 3.99

Falling fuel prices are the result of declining crude oil quotations on the exchanges. Just a few days ago, a barrel cost as much as 130 dollars. The price has now fallen to 99 dollars. The US dollar has also become cheaper: on March 7, it cost PLN 4.57, while today its price has fallen to PLN 4.29.
