General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways:

Due to the ongoing work, local difficulties should be expected in the coming weeks on the A4 between the Wrocław Południe interchange and the border of the Lower Silesian and Opole voivodeships, as well as on the Wrocław Motorway Bypass, between the Kobierzyce and Pawłowice (Psie Pole) interchanges. The difficulties will mainly involve restricting individual traffic lanes or temporarily stopping traffic on one or both carriageways. This type of work will be carried out mainly outside peak travel hours and should not cause significant traffic disruptions.

What will this achieve?

The road operator: “The ITS equipment currently being installed will help improve road-user safety. Through variable-message signs and voice messages broadcast on the CB radio band, the equipment will provide information about road conditions. Drivers will receive information about accidents and collisions, roadworks, disruptions, detours, journey times and the availability of parking spaces at Motorway Passenger Service Areas. The equipment will also provide data on weather conditions, pavement condition and visibility on the road.

What is the National Road Traffic Management System?

The National Road Traffic Management System will be a solution providing complete automation of road traffic management processes. The system will be capable of detecting and providing information about exceptional situations, such as a vehicle travelling against the direction of traffic or obstacles present in traffic lanes.
