As many as 30 refugees from Ukraine have already reached Bolesławiec itself. Four people have used accommodation offered by local governments. The others have either family members or friends here.
This morning, one Ukrainian woman got off the Lower Silesian Railways humanitarian train in Bolesławiec. (The train took as many as 435 people on board: exclusively women and children; the largest number of people got off in Wrocław—almost 200—as well as in Kraków).
The woman who arrived today in the City of Ceramics will stay with friends. She will probably have no trouble finding work.
The county is preparing for a large wave of refugees. Local governments currently have 200–250 places available for people fleeing Ukraine. (But there are also reserves.) As Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiakemphasizes, the situation, although dynamic, is under control.
