In an interview with Fakt, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski referred to the issue of his resignation—which he himself had announced:
If I were planning such things at the height of the fifth wave, it would be an expression of irresponsibility and cowardice. Of course, I remain at the disposal of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and party leader Jarosław Kaczyński at all times.
Asked whether there was a chance of giving up restrictions, A. Niedzielski noted that if the number of infections continued to fall systematically, restrictions would be lifted in March, including the requirement to cover the mouth and nose:
As for face masks, I will primarily recommend that people who feel they have been affected by an infection wear masks. Masks will remain with us—not as an obligation, but as a recommendation.
What about quarantine?
The minister announced that his ministry wanted to simplify the system, shorten isolation to seven days and limit quarantine. Details are available on the fakt.pl.
Whether these solutions will be introduced and when—time will tell. We will certainly return to the subject.
