On Thursday, 25 March, the district qualifiers of the 55th Lower Silesian Recitation Competition, addressed to lower-secondary school students, were held at the Gallery of Talents of the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Culture Centre in Bolesławiec. Fifteen reciters and five performers of sung poetry took part in the qualifiers.

The competition jury (comprising: Marek Łętowski, Beata Ulatowska and Urszula Frąszczak-Matyjewicz) decided to award five main prizes and five distinctions. The winners in the recitation category were: Klaudia Wilk, Klaudia Żołna (both from the Lower-Secondary School in Nowogrodziec), Ewa Olszowa from the School Complex in Osiecznica, and Justyna Szabłowska from Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec. In the sung poetry category, Ewa Serkies from the School Complex in Gromadka won.

The following received distinctions in the recitation category: Bartosz Chmielewski from Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 3 in Bolesławiec, Angelika Babiczew from the School Complex in Gromadka, and Paulina Cieślarczyk from the School Complex in Świętoszów. The jurors also distinguished: Kamila Chrobot and Monika Urbaniak from Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 2 in Bolesławiec (in the sung poetry category).

The competition winners qualified for the regional qualifiers, which will be held on 16 April at the Gallery of Talents of the Youth Culture Centre in Bolesławiec.
