On this extraordinary festive musical journey, audiences will be accompanied by exceptional artists of the Polish stage: Barbara Droździńska – an artist born in Belarus; Professor Stanisław Górka, PhDStanisław Górka – a theater, film and television actor and tireless promoter of Borderlands culture; Aurelia Sobczak – an actress, screenwriter and director; and Aleksander Kamedulski – a singer and graduate of the conservatory in Milan
In addition to “Lulajże Jezuniu,” “Wśród nocnej ciszy” and “Bóg się rodzi,” we will hear less popular carols that form part of our historical heritage. With a Borderlands carol, we will visit Vilnius, where “The Vilnius Angel” will welcome us, and we will conjure up Lviv in “Lwowska Pastorałka” and “Pastuszku,” because there is a “Great Celebration” there. We will hear wishes in the Lviv dialect – bałak. Carols can tell the story of Poland, so we will also hear the carol of Siberian deportees, in which Siberian children will call out to little Jesus. The concert will be enriched with words referring to the culture, traditions and Christmas Eve memories of prominent Poles: Mickiewicz, Słowacki, Chopin and Norwid.
Tickets cost PLN 25 and are available at the Forum cinema box office and at www.kino.boleslawiec.pl
Cordially invited by: Barbara Smoleńska, president of the Society of Lovers of Lviv and the Southeastern Borderlands, and Kornel Filipowicz director of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre.
