On Monday, 3 January 2022, Ms Natalia’s attorney gave us good news. “The court changed its decision regarding custody of the children and restored custody to Ms Natalia, leaving her under the supervision of a probation officer,” attorney Arkadiusz Malak said.

Thus, seven-year-old Iza, five-year-old Gabryś and their three-year-old little brother Adaś officially returned home, into their mother’s care. Ms Natalia must now send the children back to the kindergarten and school from which she took them, fearing that they would be taken away from her. She should cooperate with the family assistant and take care of the children’s health by visiting specialist doctors, mainly a dentist. The interview with their mother is below. The children who accompanied their mother during the interview were Iza and Gabryś.

More about the history of the mother and children can be found in the report The Mother Hid Her Three Children So They Would Not Be Taken into Foster Care.

Let us recall that after the mother failed to bring the children to the headquarters of the District Family Support Centre (PCPR), on Wednesday, 15 December 2021, a police officer, a probation officer and a PCPR employee appeared at Natalia’s door. They did not take the children because their mother had hidden them, but, Natalia says, they threatened to return and said that the children could be taken even while they were sitting with their loved ones at the Christmas Eve dinner.
