As we reported earlier, the graduation tower in Bolesławiec was supposed to open on New Year’s Day. Unfortunately, its opening will have to wait. The facility can operate without difficulty when it is certain that subzero temperatures will not occur. According to meteorologists’ forecasts, frost will return in the middle of next week.

Around 20 people will be able to use the graduation tower in Bolesławiec at one time. In addition, visitors will be able to quench their thirst with healthy Bolesławiec spring water.

As we read in Wikipedia:

The interior of the wooden structure is filled with bundles of blackthorn branches, over which brine flows from above, breaking up against individual branches. There is usually a basin beneath the graduation tower to collect the brine. The aim of the entire process is to obtain a solution containing at least 16% (up to approximately 27%) NaCl in water. The graduation process depends heavily on the weather. On a sunny and windy day, evaporation is most intense, producing the best results; on rainy and foggy days, graduation hardly takes place at all. On unfavorable days and at night, the brine supply was shut off.

Graduation towers have become places for inhaling the specific aerosol formed around them. The microclimate created around a graduation tower is used in the prevention and treatment of upper respiratory tract conditions, sinusitis, pulmonary emphysema, arterial hypertension, allergies, autonomic neurosis and general exhaustion.

The graduation tower in Bolesławiec is located in the town park, right next to the building of the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Center.
