Employees of the District Office in Bolesławiec have just completed a series of training sessions on contact and communication with people with special needs, conducted by the Active Rehabilitation Foundation (FAR).

Bolesławiec County:

Our employees participated in the meetings and workshops with great commitment. As a result, we are even more open and prepared—in accordance with the Act of 19 July 2019 on ensuring accessibility for people with special needs.

The main aim of the meetings was to promote knowledge about various types of disability and the principles of etiquette when interacting with people with disabilities. The training included theoretical and practical components. During the latter, District Office employees were able to experience the difficulties related to the organisation of public spaces faced by people who use wheelchairs and people who are blind.

The training was conducted by Adam Bartków, the Foundation’s representative and also chair of the County Public Benefit Council, Łukasz Januszke, Deputy Chair of the County Social Council for People with Disabilities, and Foundation employees.

In addition to promoting the activity and rehabilitation of people with disabilities, the Foundation also audits buildings in terms of architectural accessibility. County:

We also encourage you to take advantage of FAR’s practical advice in this area.
