The official handover of the newly renovated sports field at I LO in Bolesławiec took place on Tuesday, December 14. The ribbon was cut by Bolesławiec County head Tomasz Gabrysiak and the principal of the “one” Cezary Czernatowicz. The ceremony was also attended by, among others, deputy county head Mirosław Horzempa, member of the Board of Bolesławiec County Stanisław Chwojnicki and Bolesławiec mayor Piotr Roman.
As part of the project “Construction of a sports complex at I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec,” the following works were carried out, among others:
- A three-lane circular track with a nominal length of 160 m and a synthetic surface was built, together with a straight section and a long-jump pit.
- A multifunctional sports field with a synthetic surface was built inside the track for handball, basketball, volleyball and tennis, as well as a badminton court.
- A beach volleyball court was built.
- A prefabricated steel two-row stand with 27 seats was installed.
- Outdoor gym equipment was installed on a synthetic surface.
- Small architectural features were installed.
- A 1.8–1.85 m-high fence was installed along the northern and north-eastern sides of the site, i.e. along the existing playground.
- Ball-stop nets measuring 4 m and 6 m in height were installed.
- The land was levelled and shrubs were planted on the slope.
- A lighting system for the sports field and surrounding area, as well as a monitoring system, was built.
- A stormwater drainage system was built to drain the planned facilities.
- The existing fence along Bielska Street was reconstructed.

The ceremony was enhanced by performances from I LO students, who presented, among other things, a dance routine referencing the major film hit “Mean Girls” and Mariah Carey’s Christmas hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.
