On this occasion, the interior of the premises has been designed in an Italian style, with colorful tables inviting guests to feast as one of its interesting features. Guests can also enjoy an attraction: the opportunity to watch the pizza-making process live, performed by a pizzaiolo. In addition to the new location, the pizzeria is also refreshing its menu by introducing a new item—Neapolitan pizza.
– Neapolitan pizza is our signature item on the new menu – says Michał Haftarczuk, owner of Pizzeria Marceli. – The dough for this pizza is exceptionally delicate because its preparation involves a long process, lasting as long as 30 hours. During the slow preparation, the dough becomes soft as the gluten gradually separates from the flour. Interestingly, the ingredients of the basic version of this pizza are colored to evoke the Italian flag: green like basil, white like mozzarella and red like tomato sauce. Once baked, Neapolitan pizza has a thin center and a puffy edge which, according to the tradition surrounding this delicacy, helps collect the olive oil and sauce left on the plate. We source the ingredients for our Neapolitan pizza directly from Italy, and we spent many weeks learning its preparation under the guidance of the Italian chef Amadeo. Our menu also includes other Italian delicacies, including carpaccio and bruschetta—that is, a traditional Italian appetizer consisting of crispy, olive-oil-drizzled toast with aromatic toppings. We have also prepared a salad menu, but we plan to introduce it in spring, when the season for vegetables and fruit begins, as this guarantees the freshness of the ingredients and their excellent flavor – the pizzeria’s owner adds.
Marceli Ice Cream Parlor has already become a permanent part of Bolesławiec’s culinary landscape. In summer, the restaurant is a kingdom of ice cream and the only place in Bolesławiec where you can taste natural ice cream made on-site using traditional artisanal methods. In autumn and winter, the premises offer, among other things, warm doughnuts in a wide range of flavors—and now also pizza and other Italian specialties. The ice cream parlor’s offerings are constantly expanding, and in addition to the aforementioned Italian menu, you can now also find Belgian hot chocolate, mulled drinks, tea infusions and new ice cream desserts. New additions to the drinks menu include regional wines from a Polish vineyard near Mount Ślęża, as well as original cocktails and mixed drinks.
– We are pleased that the Marceli family of establishments is dynamically and successfully changing the culinary face of Lower Silesia – the owner says. – It matters to us that throughout the year we offer delicious food made from the highest-quality ingredients. That is all, and that is a lot – Michał Haftarczuk concludes.
