On Wednesday, March 10, the Chopin Concert was held in the auditorium of the State Primary Music School in Bolesławiec to mark the 200th anniversary of the composer’s birth. The audience had the opportunity to hear 10 works. Students and teachers of the State Secondary Music School in Bolesławiec performed, among other pieces, nocturnes and songs by Fryderyk Chopin.
The concert featured guest performer Jakub Kaczuba, a student at the primary-level music school, who performed Prelude in E minor, Op. 28 No. 4. The concert was hosted by musicologist Artur Bielecki. During the breaks between the individual pieces, Noemi Kuśnierz recited poems dedicated to the great composer.
– Chopin is our composer. We promote his music not only during the Year of Chopin. Our students play his works all the time – says Małgorzata Kuśnierz, head of the secondary-level music school. – This is not easy music. Not everyone can express through their playing the emotions concentrated in these sounds. Chopin was a very sensitive person. He demanded of himself and of others that music be genuine. That it be played from the heart.
