The idea that money is best kept in a sock is gradually becoming a thing of the past. Thanks to the internet, it is easy to find out how to invest in the stock market or how to trade currencies online, which investment funds to choose, and so on.
Knowledge
On every website, you can find specialists, blogs, channels, stories and other tools that enable you to learn or simply find investment advice. Investment platforms often want their clients to achieve investment success because they charge a percentage of the profit, so the more you earn, the more the intermediary earns. In return, the intermediary provides clients with all kinds of assistance.
Plan
Before we start investing—regardless of what we invest in—we need to learn about all the available options. We should decide why we are growing our money and what we want to do with it once our financial goal has been achieved. We should consider their characteristics, what the markets look like, the history of the relevant instruments, the level of risk, rates of return and many other factors that influence making the right decision. Above all, the aim is to earn money, not lose it, especially if we are thinking about additional funds for retirement.
Achieving the Goal
After familiarising ourselves with all the options, we should choose the one that suits us best and with which we feel confident and safe—one that will not keep us awake at night. Next, we need a goal we want to achieve: a target amount after which we will be satisfied. If we plan to invest funds for the future, we should choose a low-risk option, which is often associated with a lower rate of return.
Stabilisation
Once we have achieved our goal, we can decide to change the direction of our investments. At that point, we can diversify our portfolio further and also undertake more risky investments, which may nevertheless bring greater profits.
However, we should remember to keep our finger on the pulse at all times and not be deceived by promises of quick and easy profit.
