There are a total of four league matchdays remaining for the teams in the Jelenia Góra regional league (three matchdays in the autumn round and one in the spring round). Unfortunately, the unstable situation on Poland’s eastern border with Belarus means that Twardy Świętoszów, a team made up of soldiers serving in the military, will not be able to complete the autumn competition for now.

Soldiers from various military units across the country are being sent to the eastern border, including soldiers from units in Świętoszów and Bolesławiec. This complicates the squad situation at many clubs in various divisions that have military personnel among their players. In the case of the Świętoszów team, it means they cannot complete the competition. For the team from Bolesławiec, it weakens the starting lineup.

Since Twardy Świętoszów will not complete the competition for now, Bolesławiec will have three matches left until the end of the round (against Gryf Gryfów Śląski, Czarni Lwówek Śląski and Victoria Ruszów). The BKS–Twardy match, which was scheduled to be played in advance, will not take place. Soldiers from the military units in Bolesławiec and Świętoszów also play for, among others, Leśnik Osiecznica, Chrobry Nowogrodziec, LZS Brzeźnik and many other clubs in the region.

The Jelenia Góra Subdistrict Football Association’s Competition Committee is looking for a way to play Twardy Świętoszów’s postponed matches at a later date, Kamil Wieliczko, Director of the DZPN Jelenia Góra subdistrict, said. The dates for the postponed matches that were not played will probably be set for the first months of next year.
