Let us recall: on Friday, February 26, police officers from Bolesławiec found the body of an elderly man in Wykroty (Nowogrodziec municipality). It is possible that the body is that of a 74-year-old taxi driver from Skoczów (Cieszyn County), who went missing on the night of January 16–17 this year. He was last seen at the taxi rank in Skoczów.
The case is being handled by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Cieszyn. An autopsy of the man was carried out at the Department of Forensic Medicine in Wrocław. The autopsy results will make it possible to determine the cause of death. The victim’s identity will ultimately be confirmed through DNA testing.
At the prosecutor’s request, the District Court in Cieszyn ordered the temporary detention of an 18-year-old resident of Skoczów, who is accused of committing the murder together with another man. The 18-year-old faces up to life imprisonment. The second perpetrator is being sought under a European arrest warrant.
