We live in interesting, though uncertain, times. The result? Engaged, rebellious music—especially hip-hop, indie rock and punk (vide the British scene)—has been thriving lately. A NEW VERSION of the song “To my” has appeared online. Originally a hip-hop track with a powerful message, it was written by rapper Dominik Kearney from nearby Przemków, known by the stage name DOMINIKzZDS.

The new version of the banger features live instruments and rock choruses sung by none other than Wojtek Jabłoński, the multi-instrumentalist and guitarist of the hugely popular group Kult, as well as a co-creator of Kazik’s “Zaraza”, one of last year’s best-selling albums. Importantly, W. Jabłoński recomposed the music for the track, recorded the guitar parts himself and produced the music video.

As Dominik Kearney, a miner in his everyday life, says, “To my” is a song about “patriotism stolen by those in power”.

What do you think of this new version of the track? We invite you to join the discussion.

It is worth adding that this is by no means the rapper’s first track criticizing Law and Justice. You can check out the previous ones on the DOMINIKzZDS channel. We also encourage you to listen to his original show on the online radio station Radiospacja, “KilometrPodZiemią”. The program is based on 1990s hip-hop.
